A braising pan is a cooking pan which is specifically designed for braising. Many kitchen supply stores sell braising pans in an assortment of sizes, and most braising pans are designed to go in the oven as well as being worked with on the stove top. If possible, try to handle a braising pan before you purchase it, to make sure that you are purchasing a high quality braising pan which will stand up to years of use. If this is not possible, order a braising pan through a reputable company which will allow you to return the pan if it is not satisfactory.
