To enable mMail service on Gmail accounts, IMAP access needs to be enabled on your Gmail account. It is a 3 mouse click process and really simple. Go to Gmail -> Your settings (on top of the page)-> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> IMAP Access -> Click on Enable IMAP .
