What is a safety loop?
A coil of wire buried in your driveway on each side of the gate provides a safety control sensor for the operation of the gate. Sensing circuits connected to the gate motor help control the action of the gate to keep it from closing on objects, like a vehicle that is in the gate area. For new construction, pre-formed loops are suggested, because they can be buried with no saw cutting of new asphalt or concrete.
