Why do some dogs eat poop?
Toy poodles seem to be a breed apart in many ways and one of them is the tendency not to eat kitty poops and other unmentionable things. Most dogs will snack on such things, a habit called “coprophagy” (stool eating). It gives pet owners the willies but it’s a natural, if not normal, behavior seemingly hard-wired into some dogs. Many experts agree that dogs eat poop because “it tastes good.” The best prevention, of course, is cleaning up frequently after kitty and steering your dog away from foreign dog poops when you are out walking or playing in the park.
