A shortcode is a mobile phone number of 4-8 digits which enables it to put up SMS Services. Short numbers are comparable with Premium telephone numbers. For Premium SMS Services, the end user pays for the message, you will receive as supplier of services, revenue. The altitude of the revenue is dependent of the service and price per message, but will be somewhere between 30% and 50% of the end user tariff. The price of a personalised shortcode exists of 3 components: Set up fee at the Networkproviders Monthly fee Costs per message The advantage of a personalised shortcode is that you will be the owner of the shortcode and will be able to use an unlimited number of key-words.
