What is the visitation policy?
Students of the opposite sex are prohibited from entering campus living units except during visitation hours. Those hours are:Sunday through Thursday – 9 a.m. to 12 midnight;Friday and Saturday – 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.Exceptions to the above guidelines: 24-hour visitation is in effect every day of the week in residence hall lounges and living rooms of resident director rooms, special interest houses, cottages, fraternities, sororities, and townhouses. Persons visiting one of these areas after 12 midnight on Sunday through Thursday and after 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday must stay in the 24-hour visitation area and must be escorted by a resident as they enter and exit the facility. Students and/or their guests are not permitted to sleep in the 24-hour visitation areas.Campus living unit visitations are subject to the following rules and regulations:1. Visitors not attending Findlay must be at least 18 years of age (unless they are an immediate relative of a resident).
The purpose of the guest policy is to encourage residents to host guests in a responsible manner. This is a privilege that will be monitored by the Residence Hall Staff and can be taken away if the rules listed below are violated. The rights and property of other residents including roommates and suitemates must be protected from unwanted intrusions and potential vandalism. Residents are allowed to host guests with the consent of their roommate(s). Only one guest per person is allowed one night out of the week and one guest per person is allowed for the weekend, which commences on Friday. Guest passes are filled the night before and as mentioned before, roommates need to give consent by signing the pass either that same night before 10 O’clock or the next day before 2:00pm in the Office of Residence life.
• All halls at MU have 24 hour visitation. • Students can have guests in their room only if there is no objection from their roommate(s). • Any guest of a hall resident can only enter or leave the residence hall by the main lobby doors, and must be escorted at all times by his/her host/hostess. • Visitors/guests of the same gender who want to sleep over may do so anytime, but only with the permission of the roommate(s). • Special fees and length of stay limits apply. • Very young children may not be overnight guests of MU students. • Cohabitation is not permitted.
