How is RSV transmitted?
Much like the common cold, RSV is transmitted through viruses spread by coughing and sneezing. Your baby can be infected by inhaling tiny droplets released into the air from a cough or sneeze, or through direct contact by touching or kissing an infected person. RSV is also able to live on surfaces such as countertops or toys for hours, so your child can be infected after touching a contaminated surface or object and then touching their eyes, mouth, or nose.
