What are the main functions of a professional chapter?
Professional chapters focus on raising the awareness of members of the professional community (engineers and other professions) about international development, while also providing concrete and tangible ways in which individuals and companies can contribute towards improving the lives of disadvantaged populations in developing countries. Professional chapters reach a broad audience of professionals through activities such a ‘Workplace Outreach’, where EWB professional members may run a series of interactive workshops at a range of companies, increasingly engaging the company’s employees in grappling with the challenges often involved in international development initiatives.
