What is the ITU Standard?
One valuable guideline for multi-channel recording and speaker set-up is the ITU standard. It positions the listener at the center of a circle of speakers. The center speaker is located at 0. Left and right are at 30, forming an equilateral triangle with the listener. Left surround and right surround speakers are positioned at 110, with tweeters at or slightly above ear level.
