Does EnviView run under MacOS X?
Yes,EnviView will run in Java 2 natively under Mac OS X, or uning Java 1.1 (MRJ) under Classic. Follow the Unix (or any java platform) installation instructions for a native installation. A MacOS X specific installer may be provided in the final release. Follow the MacOS installation instructions for installation under classic. We currently reccomend using the classic version in Mac OS X 10.0, due to bugs in the Java runtime. In particular, if you run EnviView natively under OS X, do not use the image viewer. It may result in a resource starvation.
Yes, EnviView will run in Java natively under Mac OS X 10.1.2, or using Java 1.1 & Swing (MRJ) under Classic. There are a number of issues in the OS 10.2 Java runtime still to be addressed, however EnviView can be used fairly comfortably. In particular the runtime is inclined to lock up occasionally when clicking on a pop up, and rotated images in the ImageViewer and not displayed correctly (see Release Notes) We don’t recommend using under Mac OS X 10.0, due to bugs in the Java runtime. In particular, if you run EnviView natively under OS X 10.0, do not use the image viewer. It may result in a resource starvation. B.
