What is a concrete overlay system?
The Concrete Coatings system is an acrylic modified system that mixes polymer and portland cement and has the capabilities of bonding with your existing concrete surface. We combine the strength of cements with the durability and bonding power of acrylics. A penetrating sealer is applied to provide superb durability and ensure long product life. How thick is it applied? The standard application is usually between 3/32″ and 1/8″. We are interested in getting the polymer to penetrate the existing concrete rather than building the surface higher. The product may be used to fill and level low areas up to 2″. Areas that require fill of greater than 2″ must be done so with a high-density grout. How does the product bond with existing concrete? We acid etch and pressure wash the existing concrete to clean it of dirt and open up the pores.
