Are Dachshunds Good With Kids?
No, I wouldn’t suggest you get dachshunds if you have kids for three totally different reasons. 1) Dachshunds are prone to back problems and spinal injuries. Picking up a dachshund the wrong way or a kid falling on a dachshund could break their back and paralyze them for life. 2) Dachshunds have that prey instinct and will attack anything small running away from them. Remember they were bread to kill badgers and HAVE ripped off babies arms before. People underestimate their strength. You should see them kill a small rodent. They can snap a neck in milliseconds. One of my dachshunds attacked my 2 day old baby because he was confused about what is was and my son was crying. OH MY GOSH! I could have died! My dachshund Kujo and I were inseparable like paris hilton and her dog. The dog was really my first baby and I was devastated when I learned that he would never like my kids. He still only just tolerates them, but my two boys are way too rough for him (he’s 13 now) 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY! D
