Since most forms of Buddhism don’t have gods or deities of any sort and Buddha was just a very wise and compassionate man who reached Enlightenment and taught others what he learned, it is probably better to use adjective such as “Practiced” or perhaps even taught, although in Mahayana Buddhism, it is believed that enlightenment can not be taught anymore then the experience of seeing the moon can adequately be described. Instead, a teachers role is to point to the truth so that a person can experience the beautify for themselves. However, to answer your question, Buddhism is practiced worldwide. Southeast Asia has the largest percentage of Buddhist with countries like Laos, Cambodia and Thailand listing more then 95% of their population to be Buddhist.
