First off, if this is a new kitten she shouldn’t be around the adult cat yet. It’s ABSOLUTELY NORMAL that your cat is pissed. Cats are very territorial and the shelter should have told you the RIGHT way to introduce them, which I’ll get to later. Cat’s breath should never be nauseating. If it is, you’re either feeding it a cheap food with far too much fish in it (fish is actually quite dangerous for cats) or it could be the sign of disease. Bad breath can be anything from an infected tooth, gum disease, a stomach infection, kidney disease or even cancer. Get this kitten to a vet ASAP to be checked out. I would lean towards “stomach infection”. Most kittens are born with worms and this can cause their poops to be very stinky as well as their breath. As for these cats being together – I sure hope the shelter tested this kitten for Feline Leukemia – a DEADLY and incurable disease.
