What is vapor transmission?
Water vapor under the concrete slab will work it’s way up through the concrete pores and exert pressure on the surface coatings causing an adhesive failure which will lead to flaking. The majority of residences have a vapor pressure of less than 3 psi which is tolerable for good epoxy products. Any amount greater than 3 psi requires the application of a vapor sealer. While our product has been used in cases involving up to 20 psi, ForeverFloors generally will not contract a job with high water vapor transmissions above 8 psi. Any reputable installer will test for this condition if they have any suspicions concerning your location.
