What is the concrete symbol in milkweed by jerry spinelli?
To be honest I can’t pick just one. There is the milkweed which travels freely and sprouts just about anywhere, then the merry-go-round where Misha found beauty and peace, and the angel, they all represent hope, and light in the darkness they were in and they also represent spiritual survival. The bread that the ophans steal to survive but share even thoughh they don’t have enough for themselves. Then there is the yellow stone that Misha wears around his neck, this symbolizes survival and hope throghout all the heartbreak he endures and helps him to believe in mothers, and some how helps to keep this curious, kind, naive, little dreamer very innocent and trusting.
