Are student flights a good idea?
Student flights are really beneficial when you are travelling for a longer period of time than the avergae traveller ie these tickets are valid for up to 12 months rathern than just 1 to 3 months. A great benefit of student flights are that most have one free date change on the return which means that you can change when you want to come home – either earlier or later as long as its within the minimum and maximum stay requirements. ie for most student/youth tickets you have to be at your destination for more than 3 days and can stay up to 12 months. Most of these fares (but not all) also allow you to stay at the hub city (where the airline is based) if you are travelling on indirect flights via their hub city. For example if you are travelling on Emirates to London you will fly via Dubai and you will be able to make a stop there for a few days to experience the city.
