Numerous programs implement LEA Symbols® to screen the vision of preschoolers. Among others, these include: • The West Virginia University Vision Initiative for Children — 1 of 2 national demonstration sites for the Children’s Eye Foundation’s See by Three program aimed at significantly reducing amblyopia in young children by the year 2010. • The Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. — 1 of 2 national demonstration sites for the Children’s Eye Foundation’s See by Three program. • Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, and other states mandated to screen vision. • All Special Olympics events worldwide held through the Lions Club International Foundation Opening Eyes Programs.
