What is a wren house?
A wren house is a small birdhouse with a 1″ or 11/8″ entrance hole. Wren houses can be hung from tree limbs or they can be mounted against tree trunks. The small entrance hole excludes all other birds except an occasional chickadee that can squeeze into a small entrance hole. The male wren builds a nest of twigs. In fact he will often build two or three nests and the female gets to choose which one she wants for her brood.
