How does PBC fit with WCC?
PBC lies at the heart of world class commissioning. Put simply, effective clinical engagement and support for PBC is necessary for PCTs to become successful world class commissioners. That’s why there is a ‘clinical engagement’ competency on which PCTs are assessed during the world class commissioning assurance process. Indeed, PCTs will not able to reach level two of this competency if progress on PBC is not evident in their area. Progress on both WCC and PBC are essential if PCTs, in partnership with clinicians, are to drive improvements in health and well-being within their local area.
