A news wire is another name for an organization of interested editors, journalists and media parties, located all over the world, who pay a subscription fee to have interested news items sent to them, usually via satellite or internet processes. Organizations like Associated Press and Reuters are good examples, and editors at leading U.S. and international media outlets rely on these organizations to provide news on a daily basis.
