Are fertility drugs expensive?
The short answer is: Yes. Of course this depends on the type of fertility drug being prescribed. Oral medications such as Clomid tend to be less expensive than injectable drugs such as Follistim or Lupron. The good news is that many drug manufacturers offer discount pricing, rebates or similar money-saving programs for patients without health insurance or with a limited household income. I always recommend calling a drug manufacturer’s customer service department directly, as many such programs are not publicized on the internet or even at a physician’s office.
