What is UWRIs overall fundraising philosophy?
United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) believes that fundraising success is determined by how much potential donors know about an organization, its successes and goals for the future. Fundraising should always be conducted in a strictly volunteer manner as coercion creates animosity, hinders communication and understanding and can lead to decreased support. Any semblance of pressure to donate — whether real, implied or perceived — is contradictory to the operating standards of the United Way of Rhode Island and the United Way of America.
