What is United Way Day of Caring?
The Day of Caring provides a way for businesses and organizations to build camaraderie and goodwill among employees while helping the community. Here’s how it works: Businesses/organizations make a commitment to offer its employees the opportunity to “step away from their desks” to provide hands-on, volunteer labor for a variety of United Way of the Ozarks’ member agencies. Projects/tasks include everything from painting houses to mentoring children. It’s a win-win for everyone. Volunteers have the opportunity to experience the joy of doing something for others and area non-profit agencies receive invaluable volunteer assistance to complete projects that might otherwise not get done. PLUS – each volunteer receives an exclusively designed Day of Caring t-shirt and an invitation to attend the Day of Caring Kick-Off Breakfast.
