All plumbing codes in North America require that p-traps, sump pumps and sewage pits are vented. This requirement includes macerators as well. Our macerators have a tapping on the lid, that needs to be opened up and then the case can be vented to a vent stack. A single vent leading from the case can pickup the vent from the hand basin, shower or bath. The vent pipe size is 1-1/2 inch pipe.
