Who was the Roman messenger to the gods?
The Greek name for the Greek and Roman Mythological Gods messenger was Hermes, Pyschopompus his Roman/ Latin name was Mercury and was described as Zeus’ Messenger he was also the god of commerce, cunning, and invention. In ancient times, messages from one ruler to another or between armies were carried by “heralds” who had to be treated with respect and were not to be harmed Hermes was known to carry a such, a staff with snakes entwined and wings which were also on his sandals as well as his cap this was supposedly because Hermes moved so quickly and could fly.
