What is the MCN Program?
The Michigan Certified Nurseryman (MCN) Program was developed in 1980 to identify dedicated individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in the Green Industry. The professional MCN designation is the highest standard of Green Industry certification in Michigan. Certification is obtained through industryy experience, examination, and commitment to continuing education. John Versluys, MCN #1, a founding father of the MCN Program, stated three program objectives: -To provide a means by which the industry member could demonstrate their professional ability in a way recognized in our society. -For the program to serve as a learning tool for individuals who may need additional training. -For individuals to take personal satisfaction for their own accomplishments.
