Who WAS that Morgan Horse?
(A Little Long!) Saturday I had a dressage lesson on a little chestnut Morgan mare. The mare was amazing to ride. Just coming 6 and technically still green (and never shown yet). She stood dead still for me to mount and didnt move off until asked. She went on a circle from a light outside rein and followed my belly button into changes of direction. She bent and brought her inside hind leg under herself and softened into really nice upward transitions from halt to walk and walk to trot, and is learning to do the same thing into a slow canter. She was reaching for the bit and was most of the time very soft under the neck with no pulling (still a few bobbles, but considering that her sire was a saddle seat champion and she was started in a martingale by a saddle seat trainer, shes doing beautifullyher dams great movement is now shining through along with her sires nice temperament).
