Why do adults hate lip piercings?
Adults hate body piercing because the piercings are ugly, look painful, dirty (anything that punctures the skin, especially near the mouth, nose, tongue and eyes can easily get infected), and if it’s the tongue that’s pierced, there is a danger of choking if something goes awry during the night when you’re sleeping. If something catches on a piercing objects it can tear the flesh causing pain and infection. Culturally speaking, piercings look primitive and low class. But, other than those things, adult look on them like tattoos — permanent disfigurement and as indications of self-mutilation psychological impairment. Kids use them as a sign of rebellion, and to provoke power struggles with their parents. If kids were smarter, and we know that just takes time —as your spelling and grammar indicate you have a way to go — they would realize that they can compromise — pierced ears and perhaps an eyebrow, but leave the other stuff until they’re 18.
