An impacted major is one that is very popular and more applications for admission are received during the priority filing period than the campus can accommodate. For students who are applying to a major that is impacted, the GPA for admission may be higher and may require completion of lower division major preparatory courses prior to transfer. Impacted majors change from year to year; therefore, students are encouraged to check with a counselor for information regarding this year s impacted programs.
