Why trade Rydex funds instead of QQQQ?
There are three potential advantages to trading Rydex over the Q’s. One, we can trade without commissions, which can amount to considerable savings if a timing service trades frequently. Two, one cannot short or leverage QQQQ in an IRA, but one can buy short and leveraged funds within an IRA at Rydex. Three, if one trades QQQQ on margin, there is interest cost whereas there is not interest cost to trade leveraged Rydex funds.
