The student is saying that the hole will close if he is made to take out his stud for the day. The Ontario Physical Education Safety Guidelines state, in all modules (Curricular, Intramural and Interschool) that, “hanging jewelry cannot be worn. Jewelry which cannot be removed and which presents a safety concern, must be taped or covered”. Several activities/sports require that all jewelry (not just hanging jewelry) be removed, taped or covered. The Interschool volleyball activity page states that, “No jewelry must be worn”. In interschool volleyball (practices and games), all jewelry therefore, must be removed, covered, or taped with a band aid or athletic tape.
