What is Tote Betting?
Tote betting operates in a very similar way to the lottery. All bets on a particular event are added together to form a “pool”. From this pool, the operating expenses are taken out as a fixed percentage, and the remaining “net pool” is divided equally between the winners on that event. E.g.: if there was a £100.00 net pool and the total bet on the winning result was say £10.00, then the dividend for each £1.00 placed would be £10.00. If you had bet £2.00, you would receive £20.00 an so on.
