What is AILA?
The American Indian Library Association is a membership action group that addresses the library-related needs of American Indians and Alaska Natives. We are an affiliate of the American Library Association. Our members are individuals and institutions interested in working to improve library services to American Indians and Alaska Natives in every type of library. AILA is also committed to disseminating information about these issues to the broader profession. AILA holds business meetings twice a year in conjunction with the American Library Association. It publishes the American Indian Libraries Newsletter, which appears in four issues per year.
