What are the drawbacks of Hydrogen Cars?

It’s not an energy source. There are no hydrogen mines. Hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis of water. You can’t get any more energy out of burning hydrogen than what you originally invested in electrical energy to produce it. The advantage of using hydrogen is you get no greenhouse gases when you burn it. It oxidizes back to H2O. But if used fossil fuels to produce the electricity you use to make the hydrogen it defeats the purpose. If you use nuclear energy to produce the electricity, you get zero greenhouse gas emissions. Charles. I must disagree with your line of reasoning. A tank of hydrogen isn’t more combustible than any other flammable gas. It is very difficult to get the tank to blow up. You need an impact strong enough to rupture the tank. That much easier to do with a tank of liquid than a tank of gas. Gasoline is no walk in the park. Picture a zeppelin full of gasoline.
