The official Liberian currency is the Liberian Liberty. There are NO ATM’s in Liberia. All money needed for the trip should be carried by individuals as traveler’s checks or cash in the form of US dollars. It is recommended that the majority of spending money be carried in the form of cash. Should you require extra funds during your stay it is possible to wire monies through Western Union transfers from outside of Africa. Credit cards are not accepted anywhere in Liberia.
