Now, that may seem really crazy to mention, but actually there may be some people who do not know who George Burns is, especially since he died about five years ago. So, I’ll take this moment to explain briefly who George Burns is, and his significance in entertainment history. George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen, were vaudeville stars before breaking into radio and finally television with their comedy act. George Burns was really a master at creating comedy and even after his wife died in 1964 of a heart attack, he continued to entertain on screen and stage up till he was 99 years old. Unlike many modern entertainers who fight the tabloids and rumors, George Burns had a rather scandal free life and throughout it all, I don’t remember of anyone who ever spoke any ill will toward him.
