What is Nonverbal Learning Disorder?
A nonverbal learning disability is a condition in which an individual does not accurately process information that is not verbal or linguistic (such as visual-spatial information, facial expressions, or social cues). For more information about Nonverbal Learning Disorder, try these resources: • Developing an Educational Plan for the student with NLD • NLDontheWeb.org: NLD on the Web! was designed and developed in September, 1999 by Pamela Tanguay and Joan Scott, both mothers of NLD daughters. We first met several years ago on a neuropsychology bulletin board, and joined forces as we headed down the same challenging path – researching the disorder at a time when NLD information was very hard to come by, especially on the web! This site is a result of those efforts.
