TuneUp says its “Not Connecting” or nothing seems to be loading. What do I do?
First, make sure you are online. If you’re still getting the “Not Connecting” message, it’s likely a firewall issue. TuneUp conflicts with some personal firewall software. If you have Windows Firewall or any of the McAfee, Norton or AVG firewall products loaded on your computer and TuneUp doesn’t connect, upgrade to the latest versions of these products. If the problem still persists, we suggest you look at the firewall program rules and see if there is a “block” rule for TuneUpApp.exe. If there is one, just replace it with an “allow” rule. More here If you’re able to see the Registration page, then it is not a firewall issue. If you register and then nothing loads afterwards, you are encountering an administrative rights issue with Windows Vista. Sometimes, when you launch iTunes from the TuneUp installer (the last step in the installer), iTunes is launched as administrator and then TuneUp is launched with less privileges. TuneUp then can’t communicate properly with iTunes. More here
