Why law school?
I’ve always been fascinated by the law, and I understood very little of it before HLS. A couple of the VPs at my previous job talked to me about all the legal issues they faced daily. I became really interested and went through the application process to learn more about law schools. After I got my law school choices, I really struggled with my options. My job was easy and paid well, but I was getting bored, though I still had doubts about leaving such a cushy job. One co-worker gave it to me plainly – “Going to Harvard Law is hardly a risky choice” and I thought “Hey, he’s probably right!” Not a super well thought-out decision, but it worked out. What classes or activities exist at HLS for those students who might be interested in jumpstarting their own start-up? This is a hard question, but I think one great thing about a legal education is that so many things you learn are applicable.
