Why send Filipinos?
• The Philippines has been the recipient of the Gospel for several hundred years and today thousands of Filipino believers are feeling the call to go. • Filipinos are geographically and culturally close to many unreached people groups in SE Asia. Physically they look like most SE Asian people. • Because of the many languages spoken in the Philippines, Filipinos are natural linguists, by adulthood mostspeak at least three or more languages. • Filipinos believers who seek to go for the most part have been raised in a community as believers in Jesus and thus have a solid Biblical understanding. • Filipinos have a long history of going outside their country as overseas workers, and as such have a unique ability to adapt into many cultures. • Filipino can be sent out for much less than a western worker and live in their host country on a level muchcloser to the people they are going to.
