Do tongue piercings really hurt?

0

It took me a YEAR to psych myself up for my tongue piercing…. I went in and was really really nervous. The woman told me it completely doesn’t hurt and I didn’t believe her for a second. I was crapping myself. And you know what? It didn’t hurt. You have any other piercings? All I’d had done at that point was ears and belly button, and I can tell you it doesn’t even nip like those do. It was a tiny scratch on the way in through the top of my tongue, and another on the way out of the bottom – just like a very small injection. SUCH a relief. I went out drinking right after and felt great! The hard part is the aftermath, your tongue swells up bigtime – the bar they fit will be way too big to allow for that and they should include in the price jewellery changes as the swelling does down, until you’re happy with your bar size. I’d recommend a plastic bar, not a metal one, less damaging to your tooth enamel. Also, make sure you regularly tighten the ball, I’ve probably swallowed at least 4
