What will a hatha yoga class be like?
Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present. Class sizes are small, usually fewer than 10 people so there is plenty of opportunity for individual adjustments. No two classes are alike, but most classes open with a short period of reflection and attention on the breath, followed with several warm-up stretches to move the spine in 6 different directions. The focus of the class will include several postures, each leading up to the next. The final 10-20 minutes of class will be spent resting in a quiet resting pose called Savasana which allows the body to integrate the practice.
