What is Methadone Addiction?
Methadone addiction refers the condition where in the individual is unable to stop taking methadone on their own accord. Other signs and symptoms of methadone addiction include: • A feeling that the drug is needed throughout the course of the day in order to “get by” • Repeated failed attempts to stop using methadone • Stealing or lying about a medical condition to obtain more of the drug • Engage in high-risk behavior (such as driving under the influence) while using the drug Individuals who are familiar with the symptoms of heroin addiction, Vicodin addiction or other opiate addictions will immediately recognize these signs. That is because although methadone is a synthetic opiate, it is still an opiate nonetheless.
