XPath involving simple expressions with no wild cards or descendant axes get rewritten. The XPath may select an element or an attribute node. Predicates are supported and get rewritten into SQL predicates. Table 5-10 lists the kinds of XPath expressions that can be translated into underlying SQL queries in this release.
