What is Interactive TV or iTV?
Interactive TV (iTV) is TV that delivers programs, shows and features you control. That includes On Demand programming, giving you a choice of what to watch, when you want to watch it. Interactive TV also features Start Over, letting you restart certain shows already playing, right from the very beginning. Interactive TV also delivers Bright House Networks exclusive channels like Bay News 9, Bright House Sports Network and Tampa Bay On Demand.
Interactive TV (ITV) is an umbrella term used across many industries and countries. It is not specific to any technology and can include EBIF, tru2way, and a multitude of other technologies deployed around the world. Think of ITV as encompassing any user experience that might be enabled on television beyond the traditional guide/DVR/VOD interface. One of the many features of Comcast’s ITV is Caller ID on Screen. Currently Comcast ITV features only work on Motorola based equipment. SA/Cisco set tops are slated to receive ITV features later this year. New ITV features are in development and testing, and will be rolled out on a market by market basis.
