How do I hinge the art to the matboard?
A. There are several different ways to hinge your art to the mat or the mounting board. The method below explains how to hinge your artwork to the matboard. Step One: Hinge your mat to the mounting board so that they are flush on the sides. Position your artwork between the mat and the mounting board. Place pressure on print and remove the mat. At this time you should be left with the artwork positioned properly on top of the matboard. Place 1/2″ to 1″ tabs of framer’s tape on the back of the print resting against the matboard with the adhesive side up along the top edge of print only. Step Two: Put tabs of tape over the tabs that you already placed on the back of the artwork with the adhesive side down. Make sure to put the adhesive side of the tabs down on the adhesive side of the tabs on the print, the second set of tabs should be overlapping the first set of tabs. The overlapping parts of the tabs should be pressed on the mounting board. Print is now hinged to the mounting board. R
