How does FRED search for Expertise terms and Resident Experts?

0

FRED identifies the publications of our faculty by searching Medline. The keyword terms (Major Subject Headings) that Medline has associated with each publication are used by FRED as the Expertise terms for authors of each publication. When FRED searches for expertise, it will return the one or more terms that satisfies the search query. Upon selecting a specific term, FRED will generate a list of Investigators that have that term stored as one of their Expertise terms. This list of Investigators are considered by FRED to be our Resident Experts for this Expertise term. Note that the Investigator can edit (terms added and deleted) their Expertise terms by using the Update Data tools.
