Several reasons. First, we are the only team in the area that benefits from having the head coach work with the two top levels of swimmers. Other teams’ head coaches typically work with the top team only, and may even only work with the top few swimmers. Secondly, we will accommodate any level of swimmer somewhere on one of our teams. • Gold A – our top-level team. Most of these swimmers are 12 years old and up and have been swimming for at least two years, some as long as seven years. These swimmers have excellent stroke mastery and great strength and stamina. • Gold B – is swimmers who are competent with each of the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and butterfly) and have sufficient strength and stamina that between 3,000 and 4,000 yards can be accomplished in a workout session.
