Are SALSA MLPA reagents stable?

0

Yes. Probe sets, buffers and enzymes used in MLPA are very stable. When testing product stability, we found that following incubation of all SALSA MLPA reagents at room temperature for 11 weeks, good MLPA results were still obtained. Nevertheless, we recommend always storing the Ligase-65 and SALSA-Polymerase at -20 °C. All other reagents can be left at 4 °C if used within 48 hrs. For longer periods, they too should be stored at -20 °C. Thawed reagents should always be briefly mixed by pipetting up and down before use! Please note that Ligase-65 buffer A contains coenzyme NAD and is therefore sensitive to repeated freeze/thawing; it will generally deteriorate after more than 20 freeze/thaw cycles. If used frequently, its is recommend to aliquot Ligase-buffer A in smaller quantities.
